Connecting Intercom to ClickGrow

Learn how to connect your Intercom Help Center to automatically import knowledge base articles and enhance your AI-generated content.


What Is the Intercom Integration?

The Intercom integration allows ClickGrow to import your published Help Center articles from Intercom. This gives our AI deeper insight into your products, services, and customer support content, resulting in more accurate, on-brand social media posts.

Important: This is a read-only integration. ClickGrow will never modify, delete, or publish anything in your Intercom workspace.


What Gets Imported

When you connect Intercom, ClickGrow imports:

  • Published Help Center Articles — All live articles from your Intercom knowledge base

  • Article Titles and Content — Used to understand your offerings and messaging

  • Article URLs — Stored as reference sources for AI-generated content

Only published articles are imported. Draft or archived articles are not included.


Requirements

Before connecting Intercom, make sure you have:

  • An Intercom account with a Help Center enabled

  • Admin or authorized access to the Intercom workspace

  • At least one published Help Center article (recommended)


How to Connect Intercom

  1. Go to Brand Intelligence in your ClickGrow dashboard

  2. Select the Help Center section

  3. Find Intercom in the integrations list

  4. Click Connect

  5. You’ll be redirected to Intercom

  6. Log in to your Intercom account (if needed)

  7. Click Authorize to grant read-only access

  8. You’ll be redirected back to ClickGrow

Once connected, you’ll see your Intercom workspace name and the number of articles available for import.


Importing Your Articles

After connecting, import your articles:

  1. Locate your connected Intercom workspace in the Help Center section

  2. Click Import Articles

  3. Confirm the import

  4. Wait for processing to complete (larger knowledge bases may take a few minutes)

After processing, articles are converted into Content Snippets that the AI uses to understand your brand. These can be viewed in Brand Intelligence → Content Snippets.


Managing Your Connection

View Connection Status

Your connected Intercom workspace displays:

  • Workspace name

  • Number of available articles

  • Last import date

Re-Import Articles

If you add or update articles in Intercom:

  1. Go to the Help Center section

  2. Click Import Articles

  3. New and updated content will be processed

Disconnect Intercom

To remove the integration:

  1. Go to the Help Center section

  2. Click Disconnect

  3. Choose whether to keep or remove the generated content snippets

  4. Confirm the disconnection

Your Intercom workspace is never affected.


Frequently Asked Questions

Can ClickGrow modify my Intercom articles?
No. This is a read-only integration. ClickGrow only reads published content.

How often should I re-import?
Anytime you add or significantly update Help Center articles.

What happens if I disconnect?
You can choose to keep or delete the content snippets created from your articles. Your Intercom data remains untouched.

Why don’t I see all my articles?
Only published articles are imported. Drafts and archived articles are excluded.
