Platform Requirements
Each platform has specific requirements you'll need to meet before connecting. Make sure you have everything set up beforehand to ensure a smooth connection.
Before connecting Instagram, you must:
Requirement | Why It's Needed |
Switch to a Professional account (Business or Creator) | Instagram only allows third-party apps to post to Professional accounts |
Link your Instagram to a Facebook Page | Instagram uses Facebook's systems for business integrations |
Be an Admin of the linked Facebook Page | You need permission to authorize posting |
How to switch to a Professional account:
Open Instagram → Settings → Account → Switch to Professional Account
How to link Instagram to a Facebook Page:
Edit Profile → Page → Connect or Create a Page
Before connecting Facebook, you must:
Requirement | Why It's Needed |
Have a Facebook Page for your business | ClickGrow posts to Pages, not personal profiles |
Be an Admin or Editor of the Page | You need permission to authorize posting |
Don’t have a Facebook Page yet?
Visit facebook.com/pages/create to create one for free.
LinkedIn offers two connection options:
Connection Type | Best For |
Personal Profile | Solopreneurs and personal brands |
Company Page | Businesses posting as their company |
Requirements:
For personal profiles: Log in with your LinkedIn account
For Company Pages: You must be an Admin of the page
After connecting, you’ll choose whether to post from your personal profile or a company page.
Before connecting Pinterest, you must:
Requirement | Why It's Needed |
Have a Pinterest account | Required to connect |
Have at least one board | ClickGrow posts pins to a specific board |
After connecting, select which board ClickGrow should post to. You can choose any public or private board you’ve created.
Google Business Profile
Before connecting Google Business, you must:
Requirement | Why It's Needed |
Have a claimed Google Business Profile | Only claimed/verified profiles can accept posts |
Be the owner or manager of the profile | You need permission to authorize posting |
After connecting, select which business location to use (if you manage multiple locations).
Note: Google Business posts appear as “Updates” on your business listing and help keep your profile active.
X (Twitter)
Before connecting X (Twitter), you must:
Requirement | Why It's Needed |
Have an active X account (Personal or Professional) | Required to connect and publish posts |
Be logged into the correct X account in your browser | Ensures the right account is authorized |
Have access to the account credentials (or login via Google/Apple if used) | Needed to complete the login process |
Grant all requested permissions during authorization | Allows ClickGrow to publish posts on your behalf |
Important Notes
X uses OAuth authorization, so you’ll be redirected to log in and then approve access
After login, you must click “Authorize App” to complete the connection
If you’re logged into a different X account, it may connect the wrong profile
Troubleshooting Tips
Log out of all X accounts before connecting
Use an incognito window to avoid session conflicts
Make sure pop-ups are enabled in your browser
If stuck on login, retry and ensure the flow reaches the Authorize App screen
During the Connection Process
When connecting a platform, you’ll be redirected to that platform’s login page. Keep these tips in mind:
Log in with the account that manages your business page (unless connecting a personal profile)
For Facebook/Instagram: When asked which pages to share, select All or Opt in to all current and future Pages
Grant all requested permissions so ClickGrow can publish posts on your behalf
After Connecting
Once connected, your account will show a green Connected indicator. ClickGrow will then:
Create posts tailored for each platform
Schedule them at optimal times
Publish automatically (or wait for approval, based on your settings)
Managing Connected Accounts
To manage your connections:
Open the Social Calendar
Click Social Accounts in settings
From here you can:
View connected accounts
Disconnect a platform
Reconnect if needed
Reconnecting Expired Accounts
If a connection expires or needs refreshing:
Click Reconnect next to the platform
Log in again
Grant permissions as prompted
This usually takes just a few seconds.
Common Questions
Can I connect multiple accounts for the same platform?
Yes, you can! ClickGrow allows you to connect multiple accounts for the same platform (e.g., multiple Instagram or Facebook accounts). This is especially useful if you manage several brands or locations.
To add more accounts, go to Settings → Social Accounts, and click “Connect Account” for the platform you want to link again.
What if I don’t see my Page or Board?
Make sure you’re logged into the account with admin access. For Instagram, confirm it’s a Professional account linked to a Facebook Page.
Are my login credentials stored?
No. ClickGrow uses secure OAuth authorization. We never see or store your passwords.
